... Artist Sarah Coleman used layers of metal leaf, oil glaze and varnish to create the shimmering skyscapes on view at L.A.'s George Billis Gallery beginning November 22. Many of Coleman's works, including Year Without A Summer [1816], are named after sayings commonly used by her grandparents, Dust Bowl farmers who migrated to California.
